Setting

The hitchhicker's guide to the galaxy's setting is Space. The guide to the galaxy is an electronic book that can tell a person basically everything they need to survive in space. Arthur Dent, Ford Perfect, Zaphod Beeblerox and Trillian are in search of a mythical planet named Margathea that supposedly created Earth and other planets. Also Earth has exploded so they have nowhere to go.

Cool thing

A cool part in the book is at page 180. I like it because it is kind of funny. Loonquawl and Phouchg are waiting for the computer called Deep Thought to tell them what the answer to the great question of life, the universe and everything. The computer keeps on asking them are you ready for the answer and telling them that they are not going to like it but they just keep on asking for it. After all the tension and waiting it finally tells them the answer is Forty-Two. It is cool that you think that this computer is going to tell you the real answer but it just says 42.

And knowing the answer to everything... Fortytwo

The great answer to Life, the Universe and Everything is .............. 42. The Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams has some good parts and some bad parts. Things I liked was it was funny and had some really awesome things that I would want. The things I didn't like was the plot was only O.k. and sometimes I feel like the book had ADD or digressed from the story a little bit. Lets start with the Good things

A good thing was that it had some funny parts. My favorite funny part was when 2 guys are at a computer named deep thought and it says it knows the answer to life, universe and everything. The 2 keep on wanting to know the answer but the computer keeps on asking stuff like are you sure you want to know. When he is about to say it, all the tension builds but all he says is the number 42. Also there was some cool things that I wanted in the book. I wanted the Guide to the Galaxy because you can type anything in it and it will give you a full definition of the thing you type in. I also wanted to be in the ship powered by the Infinite Improbability Drive because I could travel the whole universe in just a second, that would be so awesome

One thing I didn't like was that the plot wasn't very good. It took like half the book just to learn what the main character purpose was to do. Plus the plot was that they wanted to find the Heart of Gold and the Heart of Gold is just a planet that supposedly produced other planets. Also some times be talking about some thing then all of a sudden it will go to something way different. Like it was talking about building a bypass on Aurthur's house then it went strait to Old Janx Spirit an alcoholic drink. When it was talking about all of them not being able to sleep to stuff about a computer.

Overall I give the book a 6 out of 10. I guess I liked it but some parts were kind of weird. I liked the funny stuff and the cool items but the plot wasn't very good.
